The same problem, in every lecture hall.
AI is everywhere: in the world, and in every industry students are heading into. Our founder kept being invited into university lectures to teach students how to use it, and the same problem showed up every time. Confusion. No support. No guidance on how to use AI safely, in a way that actually improves education.
The room always split in two. Some students wanted to learn AI and had nowhere to learn it properly. Others were too scared to touch it. And the universities, with no academically safe AI to offer, were banning it, because the AI out there will happily help a student cheat. Nobody was being served: not the students who wanted to learn, not the students who were afraid, and not the universities trying to protect the degree. So we set out to build the better solution: a structured campus where AI supports the learning without replacing the thinking, that a university can stand behind and a student can learn from.
Teaching AI to students across university lectures, and meeting the same three gaps every time: confusion about what AI is for, no support from the tools, and no guidance from anyone on how to use it safely.
CMPUS was founded by Kensho Ando Heng and built by Lumora Intelligence, his AI consulting firm, with academic integrity as the first design constraint, not the last.
The full roster launched across eight Schools, each one built for a single academic job. Technology that enhances the person rather than replacing them.
Collaborating with a University of Toronto PhD researcher to keep the framework aligned with evidence-based learning, and building custom course editions with faculty.
